Grand Prix Hydroplane Hulls
The Hydroplane Hull type is a minimum length of 21 feet excluding projections that are not part of the hull. Maximum boat size is to be 26 feet long by 12.5 feet wide. "The box style" method of measurement shall be used (i.e. boat plus all projectiles must fit into a "rectangular box" measuring 26 feet by 12.5 feet). Minimum Weight 2400lbs(1090kg). All Boats have steel Roll cages and are fitted with F16 Safety Cockpits(or Similar Design) and have an Escape hatch in the Bottom. Boats are typically constructed from Woods and or Composite materials like Fiberglass/Carbon Fiber. Engines
Engines shall be of automotive or marine, cast iron block only, 4 cycle, internal combustion type, with a maximum displacement at 510 CID with no allowance, and superchargers are permitted. Only alcohol and petrol fuels permitted. No Nitto or Nitrosoxide permitted. Running on methanol they typically average 100 litres per race. Travelling at top race speeds of 280km plus and leave Rooster Tails of 300ft in their wake. They are the fastest boats on the water. Drivers
Drivers must always be wearing an approved Helmet that is painted in a Bright or Fluorescent Orange Colour. This helmet is an Open face design to assist in case a rescue diver needs to get air to the driver in case of an accident. Flamecrusher or similar Overalls are mandatory and an approved Life vest must be warn at all times on the water. Drivers must also carry a yellow paddle or flag this is to wave to officials to show that help is needed. Contact Events Organizer/Secretary Denise
