of Boaties attending the V8 Supercar where no doubt they will be seeing
Ford Win.

very close. Philip Stilwell has his F2 Tunnel Nelson Metals flying today
against the Hydro's. In the Flattie's class Brett Mercer is a class
above everyone else in Aftershock.
With minimal internet out here and no power pictures wont go onto the
gallery until monday night. Great atmosphere out here at Ngakuru with
everyone Camping at the Venue(except the tunnel boys girls)

is currently being tidied up. The Trillion Trust Trophy was presented
to Graeme Weller who beat home Steve Hughes in The Business & Philip

son's boat as he was running out of Engines in his Boat.
Overall Results Trillion Trust Cup.

Unofficially Sam Hughes is the winner of the Moult Gold Cup picking
up the win in the first heat after G-Force threw a blower belt and Steve
Hughes broke down resulting in him being towed in for the third time

just run Graeme Weller stormed away to nearly lap the field with Sam
Hughes and Philip Stilwell coming in behind.

Only about 10 boats still running today the breeze hasn't affected the
course much and the tide will be just starting to turn.
12th April 2009
- Auckland/Manukau Regatta 9.45am
Testing about to start at 10am followed by F2 race and a Race for the
other boats and the race 3 is the first round of the Moult Gold Cup.
No North Island Hydroplane Championship due to Broken Boats. there is
a breeze blowing in and if it gets stronger it could create havoc especially
when the tide turns at Midday.
11th April 2009

11th April 2009
- Auckland/Manukau Regatta 12.15pm

Huge drama packed race has just unfolded with the wind whipping up suddenly
at the start of the ModH Hydro first Heat going into the first turn
and Challenger had its Right hand Sponson ripped clean off. Kevin Ireland
managed to get the boat back to shore before it succumbed to sinking.

Then when the yellow flag came out the remaining boats returned to shore
Country Boy's Colin Maunder stopped and Daniel Pollack in Undertaker
drove right over his back ripping off his Turn fin and the part of the
boat. Daniel struggled to return to shore but just made it back. Country
Boy got towed back and is surprisingly undamaged.
The weather has now calmed down a bit and racing may resume later on today
11th April 2009
- Auckland/Manukau Regatta 9.15am
We have 16 Boats here today for racing at Mangere. Weather is clearing up was Showers first thing this Morning and a bit nippy for some people. Race site looks good very much subject to the tides so racing is supposed to start at 9.30am.

meeting when the old laptop gets access to the power.
5th April 2009
- Wanganui Regatta 7.00pm

Kent's Boat Kwick Trip has the Cav Plate controls on the Steering Wheel
and He struggled to get used to them with the Boat leaping about. A
Foot Pedal will be put in during the Winter and a Cell may be looked
at as well. The Boat only arrived in NZ on Sunday and the Prop got in
very late on Friday Night so it was a credit to Kent to make the Effort
to get the Boat on the Water for the Wanganui Regatta.

Steve Mathieson let Andrea Robinson out for a spin in Midnight.

Manawatu Club members and the Canadian Trophy.
Gallery will be updated later Sleep may occur at any minute.
5th April 2009

Sam Hughes in The Business just won the Wanganui King of The River Race
in an 8 Boat Field he was beaten down the straight by Kent Dunlop in
his new Boat but the cornering and Handling saw Sam take the Win by
a half a straight.

Daniel Pollack in Undertaker was pushing very hard on the last Lap to
try and take the Win off Alan Steiner and very nearly came to grief.
King
of The River Results
1st Sam Hughes The Business
2nd Kent Dunlop Kwick Trip
3rd Mike Wotton Bowtie Boogie.

Robertson in Going Going Gone and Jeff Noble in Ambush coming home 3rd
in the River City 3000.

Sam Hughes in The Business has had two races winning a scratch race
over the Hydroplanes so far and is looking an odds on Favorite for the
King of the River later this afternoon.
Lunch time and so far some very close Handicap Racing has been going on.
5th April 2009

7th Craig Henwood Evil Racing.
Rodney Wood in the Scorpion had metal in his Oil Filter so has had to retire from racing for the Weekend. Kent Dunlop had 3 runs in the New boat and improved the handling and power each time a broken Blower Belt after two laps in the third run saw him pull in early.
Everyone else had a pretty good day with only Hamish Buttimore in Wild Thing who failed to get his Boat to fire during the Day.
Tomorrow the River City 3000 and the King of the River will be the Feature
Races. Mike Wotton and Jamie Knight are looking like early favorites
for this Title. No Tunnel boats brave enough to front up it seems?
