![]() Tom Hefernan and Luke Sharp in Prompt Parts during the last heat of NZGP Unofficially Ken Lupton is leading the points race in the NZGP going into the Rotoiti Round on March 8th & 9th. Points will be added as we get them made official. Ken and Warwick broke away to lead the field having a good close battle until Warwick came to a stop on the start straight. After that only David was a threat to Ken but failed to catch him. Malcolm Jamieson came in 3rd from Peter Thomas and Tom Hefernan then Luke Sharp. 10th

![]() Warwick and Mark Cromie had a showdown race which Warwick won with Ease Still waiting for the last race of the day which is the 2nd heat of the NZGP race Tom Hefernan is going for a perfect finishing record in this Heat. During his visit here he has been ever so reliable doing all 3 runs at Wanganui and so far 3 races here at Karapiro a feet that is so far unmatched by the other GP's in attendance 10th

![]() Warwick and Ken having to chase down Scott Coker The First Heat of the NZGP has just finished and it was Scott Coker who led for the first two Laps of the Heat as Warwick and Ken Lupton chased him down. The pair passed Scott on a turn and unfortunately Fair Warning came to a halt soon after. David Alexander retired mid race with a starving engine and the team are now replacing it before heat 2. ![]() The Crowd have been very patient with the Drizzle today 10th

![]() Tom Hefernan had a damaged Wing from the opening Lap but it stayed attached to the Boat for the whole Race he will remove it for the rest of racing The First Heat of the Masport Cup has only just been Run and Ken Lupton and Scott Coker both failed to start with flat batteries. the race was won by Dave Alexander from Malcolm Jamieson in KRB. Warwick Lupton was holding Second place until he broke down. The programme is running behind schedule ![]() Very good turn out for the Reunion today more on that later 10th

Steve Hughes Total Lubricants Boat isn't to badly Damaged but wont be racing today. ![]() The day looks a little overcast and rain is expected to fall at some point. That aside it should be a very good Day. Mike Ryan and Low Blow will not be racing his GP today due to Engine problems, but instead he will drive Tony Halls Tempest Boat in the days Modified Hydroplane races including the Marsh Motorsport's Trophy. ![]() Mark Cromie has dominated the two Jet Boat Races at the Lake today winning from TMR and Fire n Ice. Last Race of the day is about to get underway so i will then get copies of the official results in the NZ heats and will post those up. Bear in mind that the NZ Titles wont be decided until the final Two Heats are run at Lake Rotoiti on March 8th - 9th 9th

![]() Steve Hughes Total Lubricants had a run in with a Buoy while attempting a pass on Ian Thomas in the Advocate. Steve is Ok but the Boat has lost its Right Sponson 9th

![]() Scott Coker took out the first GNH Race from Malcolm Wotton in Renegade. David Alexander has put another hole in the bottom of the GP the Hole started at a Bolt Hole and delaminated part of the Hull. The Team are sticking a piece of Aluminium over the effected area and will be running tomorrow. Action in the first few races has been pretty good with the Modified Hydroplanes showing some good close racing. 9th

![]() Early in the morning at Lake Karapiro and the Fog is lifting and Teams are setting up. I will be out racing in Formula V Races today updates will be spasmodic through the Day. My Good camera has also suffered a Computer Glitch and is un useable so its back to old Faithful. 7th

![]() Just to Clarify there will be 24 Races on Saturday for all Classes except the big GP Boats. The GP Boats will do Testing in between Races at the discretion of the Race Controller. On Sunday the GP Class will contest two Rounds of the NZ Championship and two Rounds of the Masport Cup provided they are one of the Ten Fastest Boats which will be the Boats allowed to Start the Masport Cup. Entry Prices $10 Adults Children under 5 Free $25 Family Pass (Mum, Dad & 4 Kids) 7th

The Boat of course despite spending a good 20 minutes under water was back out and Racing in the very next Series 3000 Race. Karapiro 1st round of Nationals & Masport Cup Regatta will get underway this Weekend. Should be a Good weekend. I travel up tomorrow night, on Saturday will do a few updates but will only post results with Points at the end of the meeting. 6th

![]() Scott Coker and Mark Cromie will be featured on the Karcher Pitlane TV Show on Sky Sports 1 at 7pm on Tuesday Night. The Show also repeats at various times and channels through out the Week. The Guys will be talking it up about the Downtown Event and the Karapiro Event this Weekend. Mark Cromie announced at Prize giving on Sunday Night that he will be getting a Hydro and will power it with a Twin Turbo Big Block Engine very similar to his current Jet Boat Package. He very much enjoys the NZGP Regattas and would like to take on the GP's on a Level playing field. ![]() Terry Mckinstry out there pushing hard, probably goes faster if its in the water mind you. February - Downtown Regatta (4.00pm)(Updated 5.30pm)
![]() Malcolm Jamieson "KRB" wins the fastest Time of the Downtown Flying Lap It Looks like the Water may win the Battle with a chop picking up and making conditions dicey. That aside Warwick Lupton has only set one time and would will wait until water is declared closed before he packs up. The water calmed down a little and it was all go at 4.00pm for a few Boats to have a last run. Warwick went out but lost another blower belt and that was it for the day for him it wouldn't be surprising if the Team got a bad batch of Belts with breaking so many in the weekend. Scott Coker was next out and set a blistering time of 44.81 to be just short of the lead time. David Alexander went out and set the world alight with a fastest time of 43.43. This meant the KRB team of Malcolm Jamieson had to come out and complete there last two runs to try and Win the Title. In Malcolm's second run he fell just short with a 43.84 so back to the dock where the Team made a small adjustment and out they went to set a 42.47 Time to take the Eaton Downtown Flying Lap for 2008 by almost a whole Second from David Alexander with Anthony Robinson in GRA in 3rd spot. ![]() Matt Morrison Memorial Winner Brett Mercer "Aftershock"(unofficial) Dancing Bear Too went out on the first lap with a oil burning Smoke Machine. this left 4 boats running with Peter White giving Brett Mercer a run for his money and at the back of the pack the two wanganui Boats Undadone and First Offence had a good battle for 3rd spot. Overall MMM Results (unofficial) 1st Aftershock Brett Mercer, Aftershock 2nd Peter White, Wasted Nights 3rd Paul Reid, Undadone 4th Terry Mackinstry, First Offence. ![]() 9 Boats lined up for the River City 3000 ![]() A Great line up for the River City 3000 with 10 boats taking the start. John Hallet and Paul Robertson took off and had a great Battle to the finish with Andrea Robinson and Alan Steiner having a battle for 3rd. Ambush wasn't running too well but since this boat had rolled and sunk in the First race of the day it was a miracle that Jeff had even made the start of this race. River City 3000 Unofficial Results 1st Buckshot, John Hallet 2nd Going Going Gone, Paul Robertson 3rd Star Trax, Andrea Robinson 4th Miss Weta, Malcolm Packer 5th Ambush, Jeff Noble 6th Pursuit, Jeremy Thomas 7th Brooster, Bruce Packer ![]() Ken Lupton's Boat had a lot of teething troubles and will want to give the boat a good going over tonight. ![]() Australian Tom Hefernan in Dragula was very pleased with his new prop shaft and rudder combination and is really looking forward to the seasons racing in New Zealand ![]() The Coastguard and the New Zealand Air Force staged a Rescue Demonstration for the Public and will do the same tomorrow at 12 noon. here they lower a swimmer that they had plucked out of the river onto the waiting Coast Guard Boat. I will try to update the Gallery with a bunch of Pictures from at everyone else who was appearing today after tonight's functions might depend how much err Orange Juice I Drink though so maybe pictures will be up Sunday Morning. 2nd February - Wanganui Chronicle Article(6.00pm)

![]() Brett Mercer wins first heat of NI Pro Com First Race of the Day and sadly in the Series 3000 race Ambush and Jeff Noble fill over. Jeff was all right but the Boat will be out of Action until repairs are undertaken and the Engine is rebuilt. NI ProCom Heat 1 Unofficial results Aftershock Brett Mercer Dancing Bear Ben Ryan Wasted Nights Peter White Undercover Paul Reid Aftershock took a good lead but was run down by F1 Glass who sadly broke as soon as he was Passing Aftershock. Dancing Bear, Wasted Nights and Altered State all had a good battle although i think Altered State was not classed as a Finisher 2nd

![]() Peter Robb will make a last minute Entry to field of Jet Boats in the Mini Marathon The Regatta has had two withdrawals from the V8 Proboats with The Game and Bowtie Boogie both pulling out of the Regatta. The Large South Island Entries have all made the trip up and are looking Forward to Competing in the North Island The GP's are all in Attendance I will post fresh pictures of Low Blow GP77 and Annihilator GP009 in the Morning. Tomorrow I will update the Site after the North Island Pro Com Title has been Decided and at the end of the Regatta 31st

The Team is widely recognized throughout the country as the premier Watersports Rescue Team and The NZGP are certainly delighted to have them on Board for the Season. When attending Offshore Race Events the Team have a dedicated Helicopter patrolling the Race course so if needed the two rescue divers can jump into the water to perform a rescue. Also the Team have a top range of Rescue equipment from the Jaws of Life to heart defibrillators.
