25th May - Cambridge/Waikato Kilo's

Steve Hughes has set a new Record for Formula One boats in NZ with a speed of 126.577mph (File Photo from Ngakuru). I'm sure Steve is overjoyed at getting this Record Speed. It is also a Northern Zone Record as well.

Scott Lewis has steered is Offshore Superboat to a Speed of 130.85mph which is the Fastest Speed of the Day so far. (File Photo from Wellington). The FMI Racing Team will be acknowledged with a 100mph Certificate by the NZPBA even though he is from another Class. This is probably the last Official Run by Scott Lewis in this Boat as the FMI Race Team have Purchased a brand New American Built Superboat to run next Season.

Overall a good turnout of 20 Boats with a number of the Offshore Class turning out to support the Event as well. I will post the Times of the Boats still running when I receive them. Pretty good day for three members of Waikato/Cambridge Club who got their 100mph Gold Badges, Congratulations to Nigel Zander, Alan Wells and Brett Mercer.

Steve Mathieson in Midnight set a new Central Zone Speed at 114.23mph (file Photo from Wairarapa)

Don't know if anyone was there to get a few Photos of the Day or not.
